Making me think an exit like Mitsubishi a few years ago might be in play. Their last offer with increased warranty may their last attempt to make people buy their cars.You should probably send a "Thank You" card to Nigel Farage

I have scrapped my 4+ years old Bridgestone Blizzak winter tyres at 5 mm thread depth.
They came with the original Honda winter wheels (yes, I've only had my car for three+ years but the Honda winter wheels with tyres sat a bit longer on the shelves).
I was never too partial to Bridgestone tyres in the first place and noticed their "hardening" over the years and them losing performance in the wet.
So I have decided to switch to something "better" and opted for Continental WinterContact TS870 which turned out to provide a much more comfortable and quiet ride than the Blizzaks - the wet grip is better as well and the rolling resistance is about the same. Other qualities like behaviour on snow and ice they have yet to prove.

Have you considered using a portable power station to occasionally power a charger of your choice yet?
Of course: "It ain't pretty" - However: As long as it would get the job done...
You would have to incur the chore of periodically carrying the power station (plus charger) to and from your car in the public car park.

Addendum:
Yes! I'm part of the "drab" community as well as I opted for "Premium Sunlight White Pearl" as it seemed to be the only "whitish" option - actually I wanted a truly white car but Honda appears to be colourblind and calls this "grayish-bluish-golden-but-never-white" colour vari/abomin/ation "white" (where is the handwringing smiley again?)

« Last post by Bazzzer on November 03, 2026, 05:38:33 PM »If I remember rightly, the car had travelled only 1500 miles in the 20 years before I got it (2007), so I expect the tyre had been on all that time. I remember it didn't have the 4 digit date code. The incident happened in 2008, I think I had used the spare for 2-3 months before it blew. There was lots of wire (see the first photo) so I guess it was a steel radial. If it was cracked I hadn't realised.
