A further e-mail from Honda.

I'd already arranged to take my car into the main dealers, before my first e-mail. It goe in next week. The arrangement is that they will carry out any Honda updates free of charge for the first five years, I'll ask them about the sat/nav when I take it in.

Thank you for contacting Honda (UK).

As you do not have a smartphone, the best course of action would be to contact your local Honda retailer.

Their qualified staff will be able to advise you on the available options for updating your satellite navigation system and assist you with the update process if required.

They will also be able to confirm whether updates for your specific vehicle and navigation system can be installed via USB and what update methods are supported.

You can find your nearest Honda retailer using the following link:

https://www.honda.co.uk/cars/find-a-dealer.html#search

Please do not hesitate to contact your local retailer for further assistance.

In the meantime, should you need assistance on any other matters, please do not hesitate to contact us, and we will be happy to assist you where possible.

Once again, thank you for contacting Honda (UK).

Kind regards,

I have a message about an audio update.  When the car is stationary I tap on Download and Install.  Next time I get in the car I still have the same message.  How do I get the update to install?
Some relevant points:
1  TCU is enabled
2  I can't connect to wi-fi as my router is in a 2nd floor flat
3  With mobile phones, computers etc I am a total idiot

I too got this update message . I assumed it meant the car had already downloaded the update and all I needed do was install it.  But when I pressed the  button nothing much happened.

The reason was although my car is connected to my home wifi network, my driveway is out of range . But by moving the car to the side of the house it does get a signal to my wifi  and then   pressing the button started the process. It connected to my wifi and then displayed a downloading-in-  progress bar, which takes a few minutes.  On completion you can install it. This does cause the car screens to go blank  for a short time, which was  a bit disconcerting but presumably just rebooting.

I think you will need to find a way of connecting your car to a wifi network. Maybe  via your phone, but sorry I cant help with that   :-[
My new found experience means I could possibly do HERE map updates via wifi, but I will probably contiue to do so via usb stick.  :-[
