Euro NCAP advice is to avoid the MG3 after critical safety failure crash test when the the MG3 seat latch failed.

It is said here that the new Renault Clio hybrid has a trunk volume of 309 liters.

It's also said there that Renault uses the casting method with water to determine the boot content. Measured according to the VDA method, the boot would certainly be smaller.
Casting is known as an indirect or substitutive method, The VDA method most commonly refers to the German Automobile Industry Association's (Verband der Automobilindustrie) method for measuring cargo or boot volume by filling the space with standardized 1-liter blocks (measuring 200x100x50 mm), counting them, and converting the total to cubic meters. This method provides a realistic, usable volume by excluding small gaps.
Since (I think) we rarely transport (unpacked) liquids in the boot the VDA method seems more realistic to me.  :D

We weren't exactly in a hurry to replace our Honda Jazz e:HEV, possibly with an MG3. This sloppy mistake by MG is causing more doubt and delays, and we'll likely have to look for a different replacement.

Unless it’s an old Jazz where the boot regularly fills up with water 😂😂😂

I think that using a casting method to measure every last nook and cranny of space is deceptive.  A decent shape boot able to take suitcases, baby prams etc is much more important than devious methods to market the boot space as being a few litres larger than its  rivals   (who may use a fairer  method)

Having said that, like Ninanina ,I recently loaded the Jazz to the gunwales/gunnels and did find ingenious ways of squeezing various extra small items into footwells, etc.  Yet still found room to add  6 litre bottles of 'duty free' wine when the opportunity arose. ;D

here in Belgium the MG3 Hybrid+ is also quite a bit cheaper than the Honda Jazz (about 4700€ cheaper for the most luxurious versions)  I did not even consider it last year when I bought a car. Last week I was looking which of the small full hybrid cars have a bit more power than the Jazz. The MG3 Hybrid+ allegedly has 194PK and the Jazz 122PK. Anyone test the MG3 Hybrid+? 194PK for such a small car must give a nice acceleration. On the other had the top speed for both is about 170km/h

The top speed in electric cars is intentionally limited in order not to over-rev the electric motor.
And yes: The e:HEV Jazz essentially is an electric car! (it just happens to produce the "juice" on-board with an ICE powering a generator, whereas the driving is mainly done by the electric motor)

Please keep in mind, that the Jazz - contrary to the Honda misnomer e:CVT - doesn't have a CVT!
btw: Who would want to drive a Jazz beyond 170 km/h? - This car was built and optimized for the city and B-roads.
If you were looking for a race car, please do look elsewhere!

I am located in the Ardennes and uphill my Honda seems to struggle a bit. No big deal.

I always thought this 170km/h was imposed by the EU but apparently not. There are Tesla's sold that can go 260km/h +++ and also some other car brands that make electric cars as well.

From memory, Model 3/Y are limited at 180kmh. Model S/X to 280kmh.

And their range at 170kph  or  280kph?   You may be looking for your next charging point after half an hour or so   ;D

And if in the UK you will probably only need to charge it a couple of times before you rack up 12 points and a driving ban :o

All these new Chinese hybrid/electric cars haven't been on the road long enough to form any sort of reliable test review. Ask these questions again in another 5 years.

Top speed is a continuous effort. The Jazz may have 109 or 122 horsepower, but that is for a short period. Top speed implies an engine at maximum revs and doing 90-ish horsepower, while running generator and electric motor. Heat production is also an issue. That’s why the top speed is limited.
The upside is that acceleration and economy are far better than for a comparable petrol car that can do 170!

Of course the ICE revs go up when going uphill or otherwise demanding "more power"!
Where do you think, the power comes from? - The higher the power demand, the higher the revs of the ICE!

It takes a little time to get used to a full-hybrid's behaviour because the ICE normally is completely disconnected from the wheels. So, there is essentially nothing you can do about high engine revs besides lowering your power demands.
