The MG 3 Hybrid+ has been mentioned several times in the discussion here. Even
by me, when I bought a Jazz and my neighbor just bought an MG 3 Hybrid+.
These are
approximately the same vehicles, in the same category.
I don't know about other countries, but here they are both in
approximately the same price range. The MG 3 Hybrid+ Exclusive currently
costs in action around 19 300 GBP (22 200 EUR).
The Jazz currently
in action: Elegance around 19 800 GBP (22 800 EUR) and Advance around 20 800 GBP (24 000 EUR).
I haven't driven the MG 3 Hybrid+, so I can't compare the driving characteristics, I've just read some tests.
What I like about the MG 3 Hybrid+:
nicer appearance compared to Jazz
larger selection of paint colors
no gearshift “stick”
360-degree camera
much higher battery capacity (but almost the same total weight as the Jazz)
larger wheelbase and length
higher performance
7 year warranty
What I don't like about the MG 3 Hybrid+:
Chinese car
non-separable rear seat
the trunk volume is even smaller than in the Jazz
a relatively young Chinese hybrid system compared to the long-developed, proven and richly subsidized Japanese system (so the question of reliability)
although it has more than double the battery capacity, the efficiency is not as good as the Jazz
more noise on the highway
a "longer-term" test revealed a crack in the dashboard and a broken lever by the seat (poor material)
Furthermore, with the MG 3 Hybrid+: there is a question of safety (I don't know of any crash tests), long-term reliability (possible defects), quality of service, availability and prices of spare parts. With more than double the battery capacity, the same total weight as the Jazz - won't the sheets be weaker (compared to the already weak ones in the Jazz)?
The Jazz is not flawless, it really isn't. But if I had to choose between the two vehicles, I would choose the Jazz again.
