Fully agree, Citroen called it indexed mirrors and all my Xantias had it

Made parallel parking a lot easier when you could easily see your rear wheels and kerb

The odd thing is, in the dealers when I ordered mine, the board next to the Jazz indicated it had this feature

Let's be careful out there !

I'd wish for better (road) noise insulation and a heat pump for the cabin.

Well, both not likely to gonna happen - however, I may dream...

I only use brake hold if I'm on a road that has a slope otherwise its neutral,
I am sure I read in handbook that the parking brake can have a second pull
on lever for a stronger hold if it wasn't the jazz it was my previous car, years
ago I got rammed in the back of car at traffic lights it would not have been so
severe if the handbrake had not been on.
I forgot what I came to forget.

Eh?  With an automatic  I  use P  when parked, and stay in D (or B ) when held up  in stationary traffic.   in an automatic Neutral is only really for  pushing a car round a workshop etc.

I dont think there is a double pull for the electric handbrake on the mk4.   Although less handbrake power might buffer a rear end shunt by allowing the car to move a bit, it can also increase  the chances that you will also get front end damage being pushed into the car in front .Or hit crossing pedestrians , or the car  pushed out into the junction and hit by fast moving cross traffic (which might be a train  :o )

Having said that , am I right in thinking that  'brake hold'  holds the brakes  on at the  same braking pressure you used to bring the car to a stop ? . Which might not have been much if you stopped gently  . 'Hill start assist ' stops you rolling back again on an incline, but how well will the system score in preventing a rear end shunt into crossing pedestrians etc?  Will hill start assist come into action and increase braking effect  if the car moves unexpectedly?    :-\ eek

You seem to be an educated gent, but I'm asking a question that's probably  impossible to answer
is there a new jazz being released in 26/27 and would it be hybrid or all electric, good luck answering that
if you can your a wizard, but it would help me making a couple of decisions, good luck.
I forgot what I came to forget.

I think any Jazz update is unlikely to be full electric. Honda have just updated the Civic as a full hybrid only. They’ll probably now prove me wrong!

Maybe not an EV Jazz in 2026 but there is the Honda Super-N A new compact EV coming to Great Britain from 2026

There's a new hybrid in the pipeline. See https://global.honda/en/newsroom/news/2024/4241218aeng.html and https://global.honda/en/tech/Honda_eHEV_next_generation/ which imply that the Jazz may lose the Magic seats.

My best guess is arrival in late 2027 (ie MY 2028). Honda's current priority for the UK seems to be launching some more EVs - see https://clubjazz.org/forum/index.php?topic=17689.msg155674#msg155674.
2025 Jazz Advance, previously 2022 HR-V Elegance, previously 2020 Jazz Crosstar

One thing I would consider an improvement is when parking up and P is selected it would be good if the EPB  automatically engaged, my Toyota Yaris X did this and was much better than the Jazz, I know of the setting where the EPB auto engages but that is only when the car is shut down

Not sure about that

I never applied my parking brake in my flat garage, especially after driving in the rain, because I found the pads often locked onto the disks after an overnight stand

If I did there was an almighty bang when they eventually released under engine pressure and a lurch forwards

Not just the Jazz but many cars I had had this phenomenon
Let's be careful out there !

Seen elsewhere that how to activate / deactivate the automatic parking brake feature is on page 498 of the 2022 manual.

Yes John but it doesn't apply the EPB automatically when the car is put in park, it only applies the EPB when the car is shut down
