A salesman at honda dealership once said to me [the amount of money you pay for a car
it is to be used not mollycoddled they all finish up worthless in time] I have to say though
its nice to see a car which is looked after.

Look after something, and it looks after you.

but I am concerned about the dust and grit on the paintwork being ground in whilst using these "waterless" detailing products
Then you are very right to be worried!
Otherwise, similar preparations only have a short-term effect.
Things should serve me, not me them

I have been involved in amateur detailing for many years.
I have tried dozens of products. It is usually laborious and only has a short-term effect.
My insight and advice: either invest in perennial ceramics, followed by occasional application of Gyeon Q2M WetCoat or CARPRO HydrO2.

If it's too expensive for someone, use the second method: washing and hand polishing the paint with a good polish and then regularly using Gyeon Q2M WetCoat or CARPRO HydrO2 at two-month intervals - that's the easiest way.

NEVER machine wash.
Things should serve me, not me them

All I can say is give this product a go; i think after using it you will ditch all your other numerous polishes, washes etc

As it’s really easy to use I think you will be impressed how quickly you can clean your whole car giving it a very shiny finish too!

My routine is :

Spray foam via pressure washer, leave a while to soak in and loosen any dirt

Bucket of ceramic wash'n'wax, clean whole car with a soft dedicated car brush

Rinse off with pressure washer, from a distance

Dry off with Vileda window cloth and Meguiars water magnet

Then - go all over with waterless wash, one panel at a time

Let's be careful out there !

Should all these polishes be used on a car which had the paint treatment done
at dealership when new? I was told by them to wash with warm water nothing
else. Forgot what the treatment was called it was done at honda where I had the car from
also forgot what the cost would have been but got it for free after negotiations buying new car along with carpets and sill protecters.
I forgot what I came to forget.

Assuming they applied some type of ceramic coating as a paint treatment, it would be safe to use just about any type of wax/sealant/cleaner. However, to maintain water repellency long term, it would be best to occasionally use some sort of ceramic detailer(which contains a siloxane or SiO2 etc)after a wash.

I’ve used Showroom Shine for about 20 years and loved the finish it left on our various cars, caravans etc

I thought I’d try something else for a change

I wanted to see some reviews for other waterless wax products

This Meguiar’s product seemed to come out tops in many reviews as well as many car magazine reviews so thought I’d order some from Amazon @ £15

As soon as I received it I went straight to the car to try it out

Wow and more Wow!  It’s an awesome product.  I only intended to do a small section (bonnet) but found it so easy to use I ended up doing the whole car; it took me less than 15 minutes

It is recommended to use two clothes, one to clean and one to polish. I used this method but to be honest you could probably get away using just one cloth

I purchased the Maguiar micro fibre cloths and they are fantastic quality and work a treat with this product. They are quite big so you can do multiple folds so you always have a clean side.  However any micro fibre cloth will work well and leave your car shiny

I’ve now used this twice on my Jazz and it’s an amazing product; car has never been so shiny

Today I also used it under the bonnet on the painted surfaces as they had some water splashes on them and then did the door shuts, sills and door frames and they are looking very shiny

I know a lot of people think that these types of products will scratch your car but after using them for 20 odd years I can guarantee you that will not happen

If your car is particularly caked in mud etc then, of course, jet wash (or wash) that off first before using this product

I've never used waterless wash as what they advertise as I do wonder about scratches

I always wash, rinse and dry first

Then the 2 cloth method to ensure my polish cloth is always dry

Remember back to the old days with car polish that produced a white powder that stained rubber. This stuff goes everywhere with ease
Let's be careful out there !

Don’t worry about scratches Kremmen as it won’t happen

Definitely buy this Meguiar's and give it a go.  You will be very impressed with it

I already have Megs but I only use it to remove washing water spots and to give a slippy shiny surface
Let's be careful out there !

I normally get my car washed by a very good hand wash place but it’s always busy and I have to wait a while

I’m now more inclined to do it myself with this Meguiar's product;  I get a much better finish and it allows me to keep a close eye on the paintwork condition. By doing this I’ve noticed a couple of tiny tiny paint chips that I’ll touch up with my little Honda touch up paint

I generally have to wait 20-30 minutes at the hand car wash place and in that time I could have virtually done the whole car myself with this Meguiar's product, plus I’m laying down a bit of polish too which will help so it becomes easier to do every time

I noticed that too  :o

I’m going to wait a couple of days to see if it reduces in price again before ordering some more

I'm with you on this. I only use Megs as a finisher, never a complete wash process on its own. I have the blue beam metallic, and the act of Sahara sand rain dust/tree dust etc being swirled around under the cloth on a dark blue paint is a complete no no.
Jet wash, soft sponge shampoo, rinse and chamois dry... then the Meg.
