Shell advise it for mk1 and 2. I use it in my Mk2

Hi
Shell helix professional 5/30 fully synthetic AG is the one to use.

That is for the mk2 2009 2015. Can't speak for the previous model. I used to use castrol magnatec 10/40 on my 2005 jazz.

After several changes of Motul xclean 5/40, my jazz 2005 is now with PatroCanada, and the engine feels like dick in a wintry water :) But ! I change it 6-7k km, not more and use Eiken C-809 oil filter. This PC 5/30 meet approval HTO-06 of Honda as well. Look :

Absolutely cheap and efective ! I recomend !
p.s. I moved from Motul, cuz they changed the formula 2 years ago - no PAO, no esters, just hydrocreck only :(

That oil is great / overkill

10w 40 is what I usually use. Semi synthetic. Changed 2x yearly which works out at every 5500miles.
Currently done 105k miles and no problem whatsoever, I usually get qx oil from eurocarparts.

Cheap is fine to use so long as you change it regularly, which is what you should be doing anyway.

Hopefully my son-in-law will do an oil, filter and plug change for me this evening. I use X-Tech 5W-30 fully synthetic motor oil at 5 litres for £16.80. I get mine from TMS Motor Spares, here in Kirkcaldy. A local version of Euro Car Parts. We always try and compete with them on price (local depots are 200 yards apart).
