I have a question... I know from reviews that when the car was launched, the suspension was criticized so much Honda revised it. When was that? 2003? 2004? Are shocks and springs on facelift models i.e post 2004 have different tuning?

I think, judging from front suspension part code numbers, that the change is quite early before the facelift.

Front suspension control arms left and right differs for cars after VIN# ---GDx---2s239349

From very distant memory I think they might of changed the body mounting position by a small amount, so the updated suspension cannot be retro fitted.

Haha well compared to my
P.S.  Fiat Panda 750 for the luke warm hatch win! Or maybe that's just as a 17 year old driver

I think they pretty much have same bhp figures of about 38bhp but I believe Alto was lighter.. :D I still have it btw.. just not in UK.

You are right about different pick up point for suspension.. it says the same in FAQ. Mine is 2003 but registered date 01/04 so I am guessing it has the revised suspension. I actually like the firmer feel compared to my Yaris which was a bouncy castle.

The 185 55 15 tyres improved the handling quite a bit but I did lose a bit of comfort... I think with standard suspension its downright impossible to go any larger than 15" but I have seen 16" wheels too..

Further suspension improvements on the 2011 facelift which are noticeable if you have owned previous models.

Strange. I had a 1.0 VVTI and I thought Jazz is far superior. Infact a friend has a 1.4 SR and that's the same.

Agree, Jazz handles better than my old mk2 Ibiza. But, does anyone else find that the steering wheel needs more turning, not more effort, just more rotation. Any enthusiastic cornering soon results in crossed hands and paddles in the wrong place.

I have noticed that Jazz needs more turn lock-to-lock than the Civic for instance and because of that the steering feels less responsive and results in some frantic turning of the wheel on tight bends and road islands when swapping from Civic to Jazz,  but on the plus side the Jazz turning circle is really useful (I can Just drive right in and out of tight carpark spaces in my wifes Jazz that I have to take two or three bites at in my Civic - despite cars being roughly the same length and width) - you can only compromise so much between a city car and one designed for longer distances - but the Jazz is a very, very good compromise as it does everything people need pretty well -

Some people will only consider you an expert if they agree with your point of view or advice,  when you give them advice they don't like they consider you an idiot
