Mine has done 90,000. So few miles to go. I was surprised when I got the car to find it had a cam chain. Must have been a good reason why Honda chose to use a chain over the more usual cambelt.
I think most if not all modern Honda engines use timing chains (exception D16 engines in 2001-2005 Civics) as these are much more durable and saves you the hassle of expensive belt replacements which if ignored can have catastrophic consequences.
When I say 110-120k mile replacement that is something I have in mind no something Honda has recommended. Some chains become noisy or stretched over time if the engine hasn't seen regular oil changes, this usually prompts owners to get the chains replaced but other than that if it ain't broke don't fix it.
Civic Type R's timing chains are known to jump a tooth or so when the engine has been abused with low oil and Accord Diesel's N22 engine chains stretch almost a cm during their life but still keep on going. I think it is fair to say I wouldn't be interested in buying a car that doesnt have timing chain.
