My 1.4 ES Plus has 16" wheels.  If I were to buy a spare set of wheels with winter tyres on them it seems that 15" wheels with deeper profile tyres would be best for winter tyres.

However, I have read that, if different size wheels and tyres are fitted, the wheel/steering angle sensor would need to be adjusted.

Can anyone confirm this or say that it would not be necessary?

Thanks.

We've been running 15" wheels and winter tyres on our EX (original 16" wheels) for about 3yrs and not made any changes.

I also have a Merc and know the steering angle sensor (SAS) can get messed up if the battery is disconnected, and it's reset by turning the wheel from lock to lock.  However, and perhaps I'm missing something, but I can't imagine why the SAS would get messed up by changing the wheels.

if you search forum for winter tyres there is plenty of information

If you look at bottom of drivers door centre pillar you will see a tyre information sticker listing sizes of tyres you can fit,
both sizes should be listed - my wifes GE has 175/65R15 winter tyres on steel rims and 185/55R16 summer tyres and everything is fine.

The rolling radius of   175/65R15 and  185/55R16 is the same to within a mm and you will not have a problem with speedometer,  I don't even have to reset the tyre deflation warning when changing between the two sizes - I have no idea what steering angle sensor does but have never worried about it.

Some people will only consider you an expert if they agree with your point of view or advice,  when you give them advice they don't like they consider you an idiot

Practically the whole of northern Europe changes between summer and winter wheels twice a year, the majority have different sizes, myself included, and nobody has to adjust anything. Culzean has quoted the 2 sizes officially approved for the Jazz.

You can look through mytyres.com they supply steel wheels & winter tyres at competative £'s. I have run winter summer tyres swopping Nov to March without any issues on 2 Jazz's. Happy hunting down A BARGAIN

Hi, I have a 2012, EX 1.4 CVT and with the help and advice from the forum I found 4 x 15" Mini One steel wheels, they are the same dimensions as Honda steel wheels. that had only been used for 4 weeks (so it said on eBay) I got them for my offer of £100.00 inc, delivery (for the four of them) and when they were delivered they did not have one mark on them.
Just make sure that the dimensions are the same as Honda's: they are,  rim:5.5j x 15,..... Bolt Pattern 4 x 100mm... HUB CENTERBORE: 56MM,.....
I bought 4 x Goodyear Ultra Grip 9.  175-65-15T,  XL for £188.00. delivered from Oponeo (on line)m, they were delivered in 4 days. A local tyre centre charge £10 per wheel to fit/balance them.
