I have a feeling there should be a switch on the brake pedal that cuts drive from CVT when brake is pressed (simply to prevent engine driving against brakes). This switch went intermittently faulty on my wifes Fiat and the box kept losing drive at various inconvenient times (like pulling onto islands and when in a line of traffic etc). After the original Fiat dealer had kept the car for 2 weeks and changed the ECU and almost everything else on the car (except the switch) they gave it her back and said it was fixed. Problem was still there though so we went to another local Fiat dealer for second opinion - straight away the technician said it will be the brake pedal switch, cost about £20 including fitting - job done. On Jazz may just be a loose connection on ECU or one of it's inputs or outputs, or low oil level if it's swilling around during certain changes of direction and acceleration.
