CVT Longevity
« on: September 08, 2013, 10:24:39 PM »
I'm new and was looking to see just how much mileage anyone's Jazz CVT has done, I see one has done 71,000 but has anyone completed more? Is the CVT the same on a 2006 Jazz as on a 2013 Jazz does anyone know?

Thanks

2013 Jazz CVT uses a torque converter instead of the start clutch.  I don't know what else has changed inside the CVT.
We have a 2007 Jazz with a CVT and it has 138000km now. There are no signs of the gearbox having issues.
The only thing with issues is the engine itself which suffers from piston slap in the winter months when the temperature is below 8 degrees Celsius.

That's about 86,000 miles so pretty good. Surprised you get piston slap though..

My Sept 2011 Jazz Hybrid, has nudged 70500 miles, and the CVT is going well, but I have had the transmission fluid changed at 25k, 50k, and due another at 75k.

I've had my Jazz CVT since new in 2005 and have done 102,000 miles so far. The gearbox was repaired under warranty due to the "juddering clutch" issue but has been trouble free otherwise.
