Someone Bumped the Back of my New Jazz
« on: September 09, 2012, 11:11:51 PM »
After owning large cars (people carriers and estates) for many years and never been hit while parked, some s_d has put a large dent in the rear hatch of the previously unblemished Jazz we've owned for only 2 weeks (I've only recently joined the forum).  I'm almost certain it happened at work on Friday and  it would appear to be caused by the number plate surround or bumper of either a large 4x4 or van.  I'm hoping the CCTV cameras may have picked it up and my company's security are currently viewing 12 hours of footage.  However as the cameras are moved around I'm not holding out much hope and will probably need to look at how I pay for the repair - whether I go through my insurance depends on the cost.   I find it inconceivable that the person who did this didn't realise they had hit the Jazz and I'm disgusted they didn't own up to this - particularly as it was in a managers car park where most of the 4x4s are company cars.  It would be great to catch them out on CCTV - I think they would be a little embarrassed!

You obviously have great faith in any manager to own up to damaging your car, in my experience it is impossible to get them to own up to anything.
Best of luck with your attempt to trace this so and so.---------Keep us posted.

No luck with finding the culprit  >:(.  There's a cctv blind spot where the Jazz was parked.  My first quote from a local bodyshop was £400 but I've now found one that is highly recommended who can sort this for £150 - which is not so bad.  I'm annoyed at having to sort this out just because some ignorant person didn't own up to their error but if I've now found a bodyshop that does a good job at a very reasonable price then it may good for the future.
