That is astonishingly expensive for two pieces of folded stainless steel.  I will ask my friend who has a precision engineering factory and sheet-metal bending forms for a thumbsuck price.  Probably won't have "Honda" on it, but will be better than the painted sill.

The local Chinese car accessory importer has generic sill guards made from charcoal coloured vynil.  You cut it to size, heat it up with a hot air gun and fit it, wearing silicon oven gloves.  These cost R 220 (18) a set of two.  Have not seen any fitted, but neighbour with a Hyuandi wants some.

Friend said a piece of 2mm polished stainless steel 620mm x 120mm would nearly be considered an offcut, but working on a 3000mm x 1200mm sheet, would cost R 35 a piece (about 6 for both).  He said I should measure the profile with moulding clay, then his bending machine would calculate the profile and bend it.  This part would be free.  They can even etch "Jazz" or "Honda" on it if I can provide an image of the word or logo.

He has made horizontal and vertical counter tops for McDonalds where they had to make a raised surround and etch the big "M" onto the shiny surface.  The bending machine even makes a lip so two lengths can fit flush with each other.
