How I'd improve the GE/what I'd tell Honda

1. Address the bouncy ride which makes the car a handful on uneven B-road surfaces.
2. Improve suspension absorption of bumps/potholes etc. (but that might conflict with the above.)
3. Add front seats' lumbar adjustment.
4. Add soundproofing to reduce road noise.
5. Add dimmer for central console area (link with existing dimmer rheostat for instruments display)

**Of course the variable service system that bedevils too many owners badly needs sorting!**

After 23000 miles in my '59 GE 1.2SE, that's what I'd tell Honda... in that order of priority (and bearing in mind the 'economy' nature of Jazz).

Simply my opinion.

What would others say?

Add 1] .Connect the folding mirrors to the ignition switch to reduce fumbling around on the dashboard for the actuating button[difficult at night].
2] Replace the existing A pillars with metal lattice pillars to remove the current blind spots and give through visibility.I believe Volvo experimented with this feature some years ago but it did not make it to the production stage.
3] Fit a tyre size that is readily available and is reasonably priced.[I have an EX with the 16 inch wheels and tyre price is £100 plus.]

I would have a larger useable fuel capacity 33 litres is not enough, even in a 40 litre tank.

Supply a full size spare wheel

Be able to lower the drivers seat lower than currently available.

My son would say

"Lower the average age of the driver" - But I didn't think that was very funny

I think it's funny, brought a smile to my face.  :D

For me the priorities would be the ride and replacing the parcel shelf press-studs with velcro strips, (which I've done for myself).

Add 1] .Connect the folding mirrors to the ignition switch to reduce fumbling around on the dashboard for the actuating button[difficult at night].
This needs to be clever, such as to only unfold the mirrors whn moving forwards at more than 10mpg. Some people need to fold the mirrors for parking in a confined space so it's not a good idea to automatically unfold when the iginition is turned on.

I agree that the ride still needs more work. Perhaps the quality of the Japanese roads is too good.

Well for this issue Honda could use the mirror switch from CR-V (which is illuminated) 35190-SWA-J02, I'll help with the night issues.
On our Jazz/Fit GE it's possible to make this modification, you just need to get the ilumination and earth signals.
It'll look like this:

It's also possible to integrate the opening and closing of the mirrors with the door locks with an aditional module (Honda Access Japan). This is clever because if you folded using the button it won't open with the locks.

To sum up, honda have the bits but don't use them in every car.

I would:

1. Illuminate the mirror controls.

2. Illuminate the folding mirror switch.

3. Have the doors auto-lock at 15 MPH

4. Be able to unlock the doors by pulling on the interior door pull.

5. Add a full size spare wheel.

6. Change that horrible weedy horn.

7. Make the tyre size one you can get at a reasonable price in the UK

8. Provide a covered section to hide the IPod near the USB socket.

9. Add an armrest on the passenger's seat as well as the driver's

10. Add lumbar support

And something else I remembered yesterday after driving into the sun: Change the material of that big area between dashboard and windscreen so there is less reflected glare on the windscreen.
