My 59 plate ES with 8k on it which i bought a year ago had dunlop tyres fitted, as did my sister in laws EX, but when a defective tyre was repaired, they put a bridgestone on it (mine had one bridgestone fitted on it too!) i was told they were switching over to bridgestone, but my neighbour has just bought a brand new 12 plate EX-T  and that is wearing dunlops... so they may have switched over again... lol.

Sounds like a high chance of dunlops then !
The cars in the showroom (various models) had bridgestones and michelins on the ones I looked at.
Dunlops are what came on my current car, road noise is very low, and grip very good. They are around 3mm on the fronts after 18k miles, so I would be happy with those again :)

Mind you if I had to get one replaced I wouldn't be happy running 2 different tyres on one axle, I would have to argue they put the same on or replaced both  ;D

Picked up new EX on 1 March and it came with Dunlops, which was good as I certainly agree with comments around this being a quiet tyre.

I made the mistake on our previous GD of replacing two Dunlops with two Continentals - and the difference in noise level was unbelievable. Sounded like there was a wheel bearing on the way out!!

And above all you should NEVER run with different makes of tyre on the same axle in view of the different ways tyres perform.

The mix on my jazz will be corrected when a new bridgestone tyre is fitted in a couple of weeks time... although the car has performed fine in all weather conditions and grip has been excellent.. the tread pattern is very similar.... i did ask for a new tyre at blackpool honda as it was part worn, but they didn't change it.. never mind.

It makes me smile when reviewers complains about road noise on cars, the tyres fitted to a car can make a huge difference to road noise (in fact they should be the only part of the car in contact with the road  :o)  I am surprised that car makers don't ensure only 'quiet' tyres get fitted to their cars because road noise can make or break a sale after a test drive or some people will be put off by reading a review that says the level of road noise is high.

I suppose car maker just get the tyres from whoever offers them the best deal at the time  :(

My ex-demo EX came with Dunlops. A tracking error introduced when I slid it (hard) into a kerbstone during the December 2009 snows caused the shoulders to wear excessively on both front tyres. I replaced all four tyres with Continentals. Probably a harder rubber and more road noise but they're lasting longer.
