Is this the Next Generation Honda Jazz?

An artists impression has appeared hinting on how the next generation Honda Jazz/Fit will look like. The next generation car will make it’s first showing in the middle of next year, with UK sales to kick off in around September 2007. No word as of yet on introduction in North America, seeing as the current Jazz (Fit) only went on sale in the US earlier this year.

We have no information on engines, but expect a hybrid and possibly a diesel (vital for the European/UK market).

Looks great. Got a wide stance like a Fiat Grande Punto, although I sincerely hope they retain the one-box shape.

/\ I think the next Jazz will retain the one-box shape. Many die-in-the-wool Civic owners have been put-off by the new model and so would probably go for the Jazz next time round. If the next Jazz was a radical departure Honda could alienate many customers.

This is probably the next generation Jazz. The front grille shares the same style with the new CRV.

I hope the finished article will be better than this shot! The best thing I can say about the "new" model is that it's not actually offensive - it's just a bland Corsa / Fiesta / Punto clone.

Mrs CE owns a Jazz (with dealer fit bodykit) and it looks much better than the above effort. IMHO Honda should retain the basic Jazz shape and headlights instead of making it this boring!

Don't talk to me about the Corsa! I have an irrational hatred of this car. My 21yr old daugther almost bought one of these hideous cars. She eventally saw sense and bought a Jazz though.

The new nose fails to work on the car. As you all have said, it now looks like a Micra or Punto. Very disapointing.

So the next Honda Jazz is getting a small diesel! Shows how things change, but I guess Honda have been impressed by success of the 2.2 unit. Still somewhat surpised though, not really a market for oil-burners outside Europe. So I guess Honda must be confident the diesel Jazz will make the pennies add up from just a limited marketing zone.
