Extend Servicing Plan, or not?

My Jazz Crosstar (MY21) has just had its fifth year service and MoT. As the (Free) 5yr Service Plan has now finished, I asked the dealer about extending it. He quoted for a 2yr Plan (including Roadside Assistance) for £608. He also claimed that a one-off service would normally cost about £350.

Does the 2yr Plan seem like good value? I am not considering changing the car anytime soon.

I enquired about extending the service plan but considered it expensive versus the one off services. According to the “Honda National Recommended Pricing “ price list dated July 2026  a 12+ service is £350 but the next 12 smaller service is £240 making a total of £590 for 2 years.
2 caveats are that prices can actually increase for individual services over the next 2 years and Honda dealers do not need to adhere to the recommended pricing as it is not mandatory…..they can charge what they like!
What I found distasteful recently was that my dealer tried to charge me over and above the recommended prices even though they clearly displayed the National price list by a link on their North Wales website.
I complained and they have agreed to honour the recommended prices.
For a 3 year plan I was quoted £983 over 30 payments:the cost of the individual services was only £830 (2 x12 and 1 x 12+)….a difference of £153.
I don’t think the plan is transferable so having one limits any flexibility should you decide to change your car in the short/medium term.

Good luck whichever way you go but be careful and exercise due vigilance in getting the best prices.

Isn't there a 'warranty' also included in the extra service plans?

If you’re definitely not changing the car and do not want to use a non-Honda garage, go for it. It gives peace of mind and eliminates inflation. It usually includes the MOT’s and will provide continuing roadside assistance.

My dealer doesn't include MOTs, and although I am on a 5 year plan which is free the MOT is an added £40.
I must add that the car was purchased new, so the first 2 years no MOT was required.

My previous 3 year service plan from Honda included MOTs (so 6 trips to the workshop). I was annoyed to find upon renewing another 3 year plan that they will no longer include MOTs if they aren't at the same time as the service.

My previous 3 year service plan from Honda included MOTs (so 6 trips to the workshop). I was annoyed to find upon renewing another 3 year plan that they will no longer include MOTs if they aren't at the same time as the service.

I was on the 5yr free service plan but I've always had to pay for the MoT (currently £45). I'm not sure whether the Roadside Recovery includes 'at home' breakdowns. I had to use that a couple of years ago when the 12v battery failed after the car was parked up for a month in winter.
