Well after a couple of months of scorching dry weather and no other problems yesterday we had storms and hours of torrential rain. This morning the fault is back. No communication with dashboard control unit. Dashboard was all lit up, no rev counter, no Speedo, no cruise control and no air con. Also the hybrid charge/discharge gauge needle was in the middle neutral zone and not moving. The car started and drove ok, all lights and indicators worked and I used a speedo app on my phone to stay legal.
I managed to clear the codes after what seemed like an age of trying and right now everything is normal and 12v battery voltage is good at 13+. I can only think rain water is getting onto the harness somewhere and the only place I can think for that would be the scuttle area where the wipers are. Are there any drain holes in that area to allow excess rain water to escape? I can keep clearing the codes but that doesn't solve the problem.
