Honda Extra Warranty
« on: June 07, 2026, 07:18:27 PM »
Had phone call Wednesday from Honda dealer where I brought the car from new, I then asked for e/mail below, at the top of e/mail
registration number was correct in e/mail it is wrong, not mentioned in e/mail but was when they phoned me was all extra warranty
prices are going up July 1st , I asked if new model Jazz is being released next year 2027 as I would be better saving the money for
that rather than extended warranty we will get back to you on that they said [Heard nothing as yet] I also said should not need extra
warranty with a Jazz reply prices are going up 1st July for warranty cover, I don't know what I will do but have doubts about taking
extra cover, it was like here's chance to make some money, and I have read and heard of so many excuses from all car makers not
to honour the warranty.

HONDA EXTENDED WARRANTY

As your vehicle’s warranty will expire soon, here is some information with regards to extending your Honda warranty on vehicle PO73XRC .   We would be happy to cover your Honda Guarantee for 12 months, at a reduced price of £299 or 10 monthly payments of £29.90. This package is usually £429.
There is also a 2 year option available that is usually £749 and reduced down to £525. This can also be paid over 10 monthly direct debits of £52.50. Or a 3 year option, usually £985, reduced to £699 which can be paid over 10 monthly instalments of £52.50.
Your guarantee covers against most mechanical failures, including engine, gearbox, and suspension components. It also covers the vehicles electrical systems, including engine management, central locking and factory fitted audio equipment/visual displays.
All guarantee work will be carried out by a Honda trained technician using Honda genuine parts.  This Warranty can be used at any U.K. Honda dealership.
Honda Assist is also included in all packages, and with a warranty, covers your vehicle in Europe too.
All prices are due to increase soon.
I look forward to your response, and in the meantime, please do not hesitate to call me on my direct line, 01253 600926, or just email me back.

Assuring you of our best attention at all times.
I forgot what I came to forget.

Well, I'm a "burnt VW child" and with them, it truly paid out to have taken the prolonged warranty!
As I am a first time Honda buyer I cannot say anything about their cars' reliability.
So, I took the offer to prolong the warranty for another 2 years.

I find it quite comforting that Honda has come around to offer an 8 year warranty for new purchases!
(they wouldn't do that voluntarily on a VW-"quality"-record!)
Plus: I'm always pleased to see that many older Jazz models are still on the road!

It boils down to this:
- If you want to keep your Jazz, you might want to think about taking a warranty extension.
- If you already have plans to switch, then don't!

reply prices are going up 1st July for warranty cover,
Does this mean the price of their extended warranty packages are going up on 1 July, or does it mean the Price of a new  Jazz is going up to cover the cost of the so called  'free' 8 year warranty proposals?
(Or both)

Good question and I don't know the answer, she was in the administration office and kept emphasising that prices for
extra warranty were going up July 1st I think that was a shove to make you take it, what I can add is this, the salesman
who sold me the car was honest and genuine [was moving to a different car maker dealership in two months time]
anyway he said to me actual words , if you have to use Honda assistant all the AA will do is come out with another
battery.
I forgot what I came to forget.

Re reliability, in 18 years of running 3 Jazzes over 150,000 miles in total, I have never needed a repair of a type that would be covered by warranty. I do use the dealer for servicing, which gives free roadside assistance if needed.

Did you originally have the 3 year warranty?

I ask because my Jazz is a 72 plate, but I have the 5 year warranty, and in August it is due for the 4th service. I intended to purchase another 2 years at the end of the 5.. but unsure if you can buy the extra before the 5 is up.

When my Civics warranties ended it was just after a service was due so I extended the warranty at that service and they dated it to commence on the cars birthday
Let's be careful out there !
