variable service on new jazz
« on: March 08, 2011, 08:25:38 PM »
just picked up my new jazz today

has anybody had any problems with the service indicator going off every few thousand miles as i was planning to just to reset it and get it serviced annually as i only do 8,000 to 10,000

will this invalidate the warranty, i also have heard that the dealer can turn off the spanner at the first service so it will never come back, do all dealers do this?

thanks

You can have it turned off and just have servicing at 12 months or 12500 miles.
They will get you to sign a declaration stating that you have asked for it to be turned off and a sticker will be placed in your service book.
Once it has been turned off it can never be turned back on.

Hope this helps.

that sounds good, but will it invalidate my warranty if i got to 12 months 12k miles?

Warrenty will still be fine. The choice has been brought in by honda and so warrenty is not affected.

If you'd paid for the servicing up front (as I did), you'd be entitled to as many services as the computer asks for during that period. They don't charge for routine parts, like spark plugs or oil/air filters.
