Wing mirror glass installation

I’ve removed the wing mirror glass on my Jazz hybrid 2022 to replace part of the housing that was damaged. When I try to reinstall the glass the 2 actuators push back into the housing so they don’t engage. How do I stop this happening? Is there a way to temporarily stop the actuators from moving?
