Japanese head unit - Shall I swap
« on: April 21, 2026, 03:16:06 PM »
Hi everyone,
Cypriot guy here and 1st post!

I'm impatiently waiting to receive my new car, a used honda fit rs e-hev 2025 (jazz advance sport), in urban grey color, straight from Japan! I'm expecting to receive it by the end of May..

As I' am aware, Japanese cars head unit, has Japanese language only installed and cannot change to English. The dash on  the other hand, can be converted to English. My previous car was a mazda demio (mazda 2) with Pioneer head unit and it did not have language option, but only Japanese. The same with its dash.

What are my options here?
-Brand new oem head unit from honda jazz is too expensive.
-I can swap the head unit with a new one (clarion, LM digital, cadence, pioneer etc). However, I've read that if I go with this option, I will lose the car settings that are set through the oem head unit. Is it true?
-The other option is to buy a used oem jazz head, unit for example from UK. Is anyone selling one?:P
Will this work on my car or is it locked to the previous vehicle?

Any suggestions?

Thanks
