Batteries
« on: April 19, 2026, 03:41:01 PM »
I've been looking for a new battery for my 2019 Jazz start/stop. Have they disappeared from the face of the planet??

Halfords - out of stock. Kwik-Fit - no. National - No. A couple of local places - didn't bother to call me back.

So who does have one? I'm in NW Kent / SE London.

Euro Car Parts: Their website doesn't give me comfort. I gave them my reg number, and they offered me batteries "suitable for your Honda Jazz"  which also say "without start/stop". (Newsflash: my car has start/stop.)

Tayna - out of stock.

I'm beginning to wonder if the right batteries are stuck in the Strait of Hormuz...

Cox Motor Parts are a good option, that's where I got mine from. Give them your reg and they'll check you're getting the correct item.

Thanks, I'll give them a call. Their one is marked:

50AH, 490A, YUASA

which matches my existing battery.

when I replaced mine I ordered from Cox , couldn't find the correct one in any local suppliers.

Been discussed a few times in the forum and some alternative batteries mentioned.

Thanks. That's interesting. Anyway I ordered the Yuasa from Cox this morning.

I suspect stock levels are  influenced by the season rather than any exceptional  supply chain problems.
Peak demand is  in autumn and  winter. Sellers wont want batteries sitting on a shelf over the spring and summer.
The situation may be worse for stop/start compatible batteries  where problems might require an early purchase. Rather than being able to  'make do and mend' until autumn.
My IQ test came back negative
