Help to get the correct battery please
« on: March 06, 2026, 09:40:55 AM »
Hi. My jazz needed a new battery so I went to Euro parts, filled in my reg and got the Bosch battery it suggested. All good - except the terminals on the new one are about 10mm whereas on the old battery they are around 15mm - so though it is the right size I can't tighten up the connectors enough. I am not really a car expert - I looked around on the Euro site and nothing that came up for my car looked like it would fit.

Can anyone please suggest what battery I should get that will actually fit?

Thanks in advance

I bought mine from Cox, and they check to confirm it's the right battery for your car. However, if you've already bought one, then I'm aware you can get battery shims to make-up the post size:

I have not used this sort of thing so have no idea how practical it is.

Out of interest, I’ve just done the same exercise … on the Euro Car Parts website, used my reg to look for batteries. The only Bosch battery listed is stated to be not compatible with stop-start. So not only is the post size incorrect, it doesn’t seem to be a correct battery for the Jazz. No idea what practical issues would arise from that, I’d guess the battery would have a shorter life than it should. Or maybe the S-S system just won’t work.

-OEM, 31500-T4P-U01 replaced by 31500-T5A-G11
-Yuasa YBX7053 (the OEM without Honda badge)
-MIDAC Itineris EFB JIS IT55J EFB
-FIAMM ECOFORCE AFB TRN45
-SAF M043503 EFB (need terminal adapters)
-Banner 55515
-Napa AFB158N
-Enduroline 048EFB

All these batteries are EFB type and can be used in a GK3 or GK5 Jazz.
