3 Year Extended Warranty
« on: February 27, 2026, 09:32:10 PM »
My ‘23 facelift Jazz Advance has a Honda Warranty until July ‘26

So I popped into my dealer to book my yearly service & MOT for June

I see my Jazz Advance as a very long term ownership car and certainly so far it’s been the pinnacle of reliability. I absolutely love it

While at the dealer booking in the service & MOT I chatted to the lady who has been there for years, she’s so knowledgeable and a pleasure to deal with, about extended warranty and I signed up for the extra 3 year warranty for £788

Didn’t think the cost was too bad as it also includes Honda assist (AA) cover which would have cost me over £300 for three years anyway; so I thought £488 or £163 per year sounded pretty reasonable.  My thought was I just don’t need to worry about it for another 3 years so it’s great peace of mind

I’ve already got extended servicing until July ‘27 which came with the car

Anyone else taken out an extended warranty?

I think it's worth it as repairs can be expensive if a warranty can cover it

As far as AA Hondacare is concerned I've seen lots of posts where a franchised dealer can throw in a free year with a service, you just have to ask
Let's be careful out there !

Yes, I extended my warranty end of last year, but for 2 years to coincide with the end of my 5 year service plan.
Whilst I also felt is was reasonable value, when I read the small print, I was a bit taken back with so many things that were not covered.
Still, better than no warranty even if it seems to only cover the things that are very unlikely to fail on a low mileage example.

I can confirm that. I got this for free for 10 years with my Mk3, only losing it when my local Honda dealer became an MG dealer* so I got it serviced elsewhere. So the cost of this shouldn’t figure in any value-for-money assessment of the extended warranty.

* Although I’ve recently discovered that although they’re no longer a Honda dealer, they are a Honda Service Centre so I could have gone there after all. Bath Honda, if anyone’s interested.

I was fortunate to get the 5 year deal, and I have another 2 years left. So far I have completed 37k miles, and like the OP this car is a keeper for the long term. I will be looking at extending the warranty in the last year of my 5 year deal.

Hi, yep sounds like a good deal to me, and the peace of mind is well worth it.  I've just bought a new Crosstar in 2025 with the Five plan, so i'll be thinking about extending the warranty some way down the line.

I'm about in the same boat as you: My '23 Jazz Advance turns three in August and I'm planning on taking the extended warranty as well. In Switzerland we can only get two additional years, though.
Nevertheless: I think it is well worth the money considering that the already once replaced left rearview mirror is acting up again (I'm quite confident that the warranty cost for one year is less than what Honda would charge for a new mirror outside of warranty).

Good luck getting spares for that in 10 years time.

Do you really think that really could maybe, eventually, be a potential problem with a brand like Suzuki?  :o

Why, is there something about Japanese cars you know but the rest of us don't?

The Suzuki Vitara is made in Hungary for the European market.  You only need to look at what country  is invading who these days.  Nothing in any market is certain by any means.  I read on forums that people are already having difficulty getting spares.  Look at the brake recall issues a few months back on this forum.  It's not just Suzuki.

I have no idea what Russia's invasion of Ukraine or the USA and Israel's attack on Iran has to do with the 10-year warranty on a Suzuki Vitara and that brand's parts supply in 10 years.

And I certainly do not see the connection with the Jazz brake simulator failure.
That was resolved very simply here in Poland:
It went like this: I read about it and I check the Honda Poland website for recalls and after entering the VIN I see:

"There is an outstanding recall/update on your vehicle:
Abnormal brake pedal feel and warning lamp 'on'
Please print this page and contact your local authorised Honda dealer to arrange an appointment and have your car repaired free of charge."

Please note that it said: contact your local authorised Honda dealer to arrange an appointment and have your car repaired free of charge.

It did NOT say: Contact your local authorised Honda dealer to hear "We checked your Honda Jazz; no error codes were found. Honda are only replacing the brake simulator if error codes are found." :P

By the way, we had no abnormal brake pedal feel and there was no warning lamp 'on' (yet) and we had no letter from Honda (yet).

Since our local Honda dealer no longer exists and there are none in the vicinity I contacted Honda Poland. Asked them which dealer to contact. Two dealers were advised (81 and 93 miles one way(!) from where we live...).
I contacted both dealers by phone and chose the dealer where the brake simulator could be replaced first. I made an appointment there immediately and on April 15th we drove to Gdansk.

Repair took a few hours, they also updated the Nav.
Everything arranged: two phone calls and a few weeks later ready. Perfect!
