I have the MK1 and MK2 Jazz, even these look nicer on the front.
I think MK2 and MK3 Designs were the best looking.
My Friend calls these MK4 Jazzes ''Piglets'' because of how ugly it looks.

How did you got used to it being so ugly?

Get in without staring at the front; behind the wheel, you can't see the front.
Don't park in front of your house, but around the corner or in a garage, with the front first, close to the back wall.
If nothing goes right, go left!

Note that the front of the Mk 4 Jazz was changed during the refresh. Which are you looking at?

Agree the 2020-2022 frontal design is  something only a japanese designer could love.   Crosstar with a proper grill are an improvement.  And 'facelift cars from 2023 indeed have had a bit of facelift. Maybe you could stretch to one of these.

A bit of a 'snog, marry, avoid' decision.  Chose a car just on its looks you may soon find it severely  lacking in other areas. (Such as the  Yaris - more curves = cramped interior. )

I'd say the  Mk4 Jazz is a ' marry' car  You soon find it has many advantages  that more than make up for any  feeling that a prettier car will raise your own  self esteem.    Piglets have their appeal.  Oink Oink.

If its really bugging you just buy something frivolous and hope for the best.  It may be your loss.

What's the problem, it looks happy  ;D Looks aren't everything! It's a car gets you from A to B, it's not a painting that you look at.

I used to spend 99% of my time looking at the dash, not the nose

The dash is fine, no issues
Let's be careful out there !

I did not like the look of the Jazz at all after being used to a series of more sleek Civics.

However a test drive won me over.

It was just so quiet and responsive and the "automatic driving" response without any of the downsides of normal auto gearboxes lag or belt drive huge revving (even when you floor it which I almost never do) won me over. The roominess and internal "airiness" was exceptional for the small size of car I wanted.

Now you just get used to the looks because you know the advanatges compared to the competition.

Who cares.. if you'd rather settle for a car that looks better, but performs far less then fine.
I had Renaults before the Jazz, and these all looked great, especially the last Clio.... acres of good looks compared to the Jazz..
but I wanted a final/last car that performed, drove well and was a hybrid, add to this the rep for reliability. As Kremen mentioned, you don't look at the front when you're driving the thing.

However, I never liked the chrome trim around the grill, considering my side protectors, mirrors, roof and spoiler were all black... so I vinyl wrapped it in black, and it made the front end far better.

I think it looks cute but it’s not all about looks, go and drive one then decide if it’s for you, with the Jazz it’s all about the driving experience, comfort and economy, plus it’s a very versatile car with its fold flat magic seats, now if you want ugly go look at the Hyundai Insta.  :o ;D :D

as a Jazz owner myself ''driving experience, comfort '' I do not believe this for a Second :D
It's like the least comfortable and most tiring car to drive. Drive it on a motorway and you are hanging in the steering wheel for your dear life at those speeds :D
By the end of 2-3 hour long drives you are absolutely knackered compared to other cars.

:D the MK1 and MK2 are a million miles away from the MK4... they're not in the same league! It is like comparing the old Mini to the new Mini...
The MK4 Jazz is better than the old Jazz in every conceivable way. An entirely different car. Different engine, different electronics, different system, different drive system... the only similarity is they are both called a Jazz!  ;D

I had a mk1 SE Auto from brand new and did 50k miles in it, as I recall it was about average for a 2004 manufactured vehicle but I would never say it was uncomfortable or tiring to drive, and as for being dangerous at high speed as in motorways is complete nonsense, maybe yours has a high mileage with shot suspension and or poor quality tyres, as I and others have said drive a mk4 and see for yourself, BTW my comments on my previous post are based on 3 years and 35k miles in my own mk4, 400 mile round trips are a breeze with no aches or pains so I stand by my comments on comfort.  ;D ;D

Would you have chosen a Toyota Corolla 2.0 hybrid over a jazz?
I forgot what I came to forget.
