TPMS sensors
« on: August 13, 2025, 05:08:37 AM »
Hi everyone! Bought my second gen 2009 Jazz at the end of last year, got my front tyres changed recently after an MOT failure, and they charged for TPMS sensors. As far as I can tell my car doesn't have them, there's no warning light to that effect on the dash when switching the engine on, and there's no warning lights at all when running. Am I right in thinking I don't need them so shouldn't have been charged?

Not sure when the TPMS were fitted as standard but. I believe that they were an optional extra from 2008, but my 2010 Jazz (a high-spec model with various options such as tinted windows and a glass roof) doen not have TPMS.

Looking on-line you should, if TPMS is fitted, have a re-set button in the panel down by your right knee just below the line of switches there.

As far as I know it was only the 2015 MK2 jazz  fitted with direct tpms. Genuine parts cost around £170 each plus fitting. There is no reset button fitted, they were on later models with indirect tpms.

Thanks for that, I had a look down by my knee and there is a blank next to 2 other buttons, presumably for the TPMS option

The tmos system on the mk3 doesn’t have sensors in the tyres, it measures rolling circumference based on signals from the abs sensors. Not seen it on a mk2 although I heard a rumour that the Si model had it. In other markets it was available and used sensors in the tyres. If you can’t find a button for resetting it, I doubt it is fitted.
