You have a choice.
If it won't connect to the internet, you put a USB stick in the socket and it automatically uploads a link.
It tell you to put this in your computer and click on the link. Honda finds the connection and asks you where you want the update sent. You click on the file the car provided. It is then supposed to download any updates available. In my case it says there aren't any. But why is my car saying there are?

The Garmin based headunits used to give a similar message after a year, maybe it's just a heads up that there may be one ?
Let's be careful out there !

My 23 reg. Crosstar tells me that Updates are available. It can find half a dozen routers, but not mine.
How can it notify you that updates are available when you are not connected to the internet?

it just knows.............

Firstly: I am a technophobe,and don’t mind admitting it!

Secondly: I have this little orange disc and when I touch it I am expected to touch ‘install updates’,or whatever it says, then switch off engine.

Ok I’ve done this and nothing, nowt, diddly squat happened.

My question,or should I say, observation is: this doesn’t work from a phones mobile data then? So from what I have read I have to connect to my wi fi at home? Correct?

And if that is the case can someone please guide me through the steps to connect my wi fi at home to my infotainment thingybob..

Thanks so much for reading this nonsense, sorry that I haven’t a clue. Never had this type of stuff in previous cars.

Grrrr I hate technology. My radio and cd player in old Jazz were great!

General settings/connections/wifi/change mode/network
Then look for your home WiFi network and select it. It may take a little time to say “connected”.
All rather tedious!

Thank you so much for a swift reply. Sounds tedious, but is it really worth it? :o

You will need to do it if you want to update some of your maps. Or you can update all of them using a USB disc, but this is even more tedious - it took me 40 mins to download from my laptop and another 40 mins to upload to the car.

I’m new to Jazz ownership so may have got the wrong end of the stick, but I wonder if it uses the embedded SIM that it uses for the e-call feature?

Just testing. I typed out a post like this, but it wouldn’t ‘post’. Are we only allowed so many letters. Grrrr . Nor could I post an image. It said ‘too large’…it’s only a smartphone pic of my dashboard..

Apparently I have to delete the phone connection in the pic above and input my home WiFi details……or is there a way to ‘add’ my home WiFi details so I don’t then need to delete my phone connection..
