I agree with Coldstart.
The airbag is not precisely where the "SRS Airbag" logo is located.
. If you look carefully at the dashtop in certain lights ,with the sun at the right angle ,you can see a feint outline of where the covering material is thinner to allow the airblag to 'blow' . It is a rectangle area almost exactly the size and place where you have placed your chequered non slip tray.
Airbags deploy with explosive force .Anything in the way ,,such as keys, sunglasses, a mobile phone etc . will be blown at explosive force towards the person the airbag is intended to protect. If these hard objects hit you in the face they can cause serious injury, blindness or death. As someone pointed out on another post the recent "do not drive" recall by Citroen was because someone had been killed by 'shrapnel' from an airbag. It does happen. Babies in baby seats have died because they were themselves propelled by an airbag. Thats why you can switch them off.
It may never happen to you, but why take chances? . Or at least position the tray somewhere else.
