Sorry if I was not entirely accurate re MIB check.

(and maybe going off topic)
A few years ago DVLA occasionally refused to renew my VED (annual road tax) on line because my insurance company were slow to update the MIB database when I renewed my insurance. (And IIRC it sometimes took a day or two for a new MOT test to be updated on line) When I checked the MIB database myself I had to certify I was the owner/driver etc. I googled it yesterday and Googles experimental AI thingie said very much the same.
I've just googled it again .This s time the AI thingie says you can also check other vehicles if you have a legitimate reason such as being involved in a Collison with that vehicle .But I think you still need a legitimate reason for doing so , even if you are prepared to pay/ subscribe. Not just idle curiosity, self proclaimed vigilantes etc.
Or worst of all private investigation, Journalists etc. In recent times I have noticed several times that the press make checks on the cars in which disgraced politicians, company CEO's etc arrive at court and parliamentary enquiries etc. Maybe it is public interest that they are also evading tax and other laws. But I was appalled when our local TV press though it proper to check and then broadcast the fact that a female Murder victims car , abandoned at the scene, was untaxed .
