Online Service History - Not Working
« on: March 04, 2025, 12:19:47 PM »
I’ve tried many times on the Honda website to view my Jazz service history but it doesn’t work; I’ve been using the VIN number

If I visit my local Honda dealer they able to see it’s history no problem

I’ve just contacted Honda to see if there is a fix for this

Has anyone else tried to access this information via the Honda website and if so was it successful?

Honda UK seem to have a different approach than Honda Switzerland in that you in the UK are required to create a Honda account to see the online service record, wheras for Honda Switzerland the VIN is sufficient.

I was able to see the online service record for my car (in Switzerland)
- but so does everybody else with my VIN :(

I can't see mine either but I put that down to me having a fully stamped service book

Maybe my digital service record is inappropriate
Let's be careful out there !

But why would they bother ?     In the UK anyone can check on line if a car is taxed  and its MOT safety test  status   just by entering the registration number.   Even nosy or righteous neighbours. :P    It saves the cost of issuing high security certificates etc  - you just check on line.

Its also possible to check online  if a car is insured.  But only if you can truthfully claim you are authorised to drive it .  (Eg the owner, named drivers, employees etc .  NOT nosy neighbours.  )
My IQ test came back negative

You can check anyone's vehicle is insured through the MIB web site.  Checking your own vehicles is free, but to check a vehicle not owned by you incurs a one-off payment of £10 (per vehicle checked) or you can arrange an annual subscription.  Great news for nosy neighbours!

Sorry if I was not entirely accurate re MIB check.  :-[  (and maybe going off topic)
A few years ago DVLA occasionally refused to renew my VED (annual road tax)  on line because my insurance company were slow to update the MIB database when I renewed my insurance.   (And IIRC it sometimes took a day or two for a new MOT test to be updated on line)     When I checked the MIB database myself  I had to certify I was the owner/driver etc.  I googled it yesterday and Googles experimental AI thingie said very much the same.

I've just googled it again .This s time the AI thingie says you can also check other vehicles if you have a legitimate reason such as being involved in a Collison with that  vehicle .But I think you still need a legitimate reason for doing so , even if you are prepared to pay/ subscribe.  Not just idle curiosity,  self proclaimed vigilantes etc.

Or worst of all private investigation, Journalists etc.   In recent times I have noticed  several times that  the press make checks on the cars in which disgraced politicians, company CEO's etc  arrive at court and parliamentary  enquiries etc.  Maybe it is public interest that they are also evading tax and other laws.   But I was appalled  when our local TV press  though it proper to check and then broadcast the fact that a female Murder victims car , abandoned at the scene, was untaxed  .  :o

The most impressive thing is that Honda UK did reply to my query; twice in fact

The first email I got from Honda said it’s the responsibility of the dealer to upload service history to Honda;  it looks like the dealer didn’t do it correctly

The second email I received from Honda mentioned the date and where my car was last serviced (with mileage) which ties in with my records

While it’s a shame I can’t see my cars history online I was impressed with Honda’s response to my query;  they were very quick to respond and their information was accurate

Ask your Honda dealer to update your online service record - mine did, and I was able to access it.

Thanks Paul

I intend to do that when the Jazz is in for it’s second service in June

Just gone into the app to check mine and all 4 services to date are present and correct.
On my last service the dealer, Gatwick Honda, did tell me they had updated my digital service record when I collected my car and indeed they have!
