Honda+
« on: October 17, 2024, 12:45:03 PM »
The Honda+ App is probably one of the more useless apps that I have and only tend to look at it when I get prompted to confirm that I am still the owner of my car. Can it still be used to contact Honda Assist as I can’t seem to find anyway of doing it through the app anymore? I don’t need to, but thought I’d refresh my memory of how to do it should I ever need to. I still have two years of cover to run that I got when I bought the car.

I've got the Honda AA Assist on my Android

Had it for years and like you hope I never need it
Let's be careful out there !

But that will no longer work for a Mk4 Jazz - contact is not to the AA anymore.

Contact to Honda Assist via the My Honda+ app is in the "Safety" tab, "Honda Digital Roadside Assistance"

Ah, OK

I've also got the 0207 number saved in my contacts

I'll install the Honda+ and see if it likes that my Jazz hasn't ever had telematics activated

Update: Nope, it wants to pair my car, that's not going to work, so how do I summon assistance, catch 22

I was just about to say the same thing.

For me, me main reason I have it activated is, the location function (tracker), whereby I know where the car is at all times, yes I know it can be disabled in the car, by some perp who knows what he’s doing, but it’s better than nothing.
Also, how many times have you walked away from the car, maybe a mile or two, and then thought, ‘did I lock the car?’ Doors can be locked/unlocked, windows open/shut with just a click.
All journeys are recorded with distance travelled and miles per gallon etc.
Overall,  for me it’s an App worth having and quite obviously I recommend it.

And yes, you will need the telematics to be activated by your dealer, usually FOC.

Tried logging in but another catch 22

It wants me to setup a face or fingerprint security lock that I'm not doing, don't trust either

The app then says I can just use my email and password but it then goes back to requiring a security lock when I enter my email and password
Let's be careful out there !

That's what I thought, however when I look there it just has the option to set the Geo-fence. I wonder if they think that I am no longer entitled to it. I have the T&C for the Five Year Care Package in front of me and it quite clearly says Hondacare Assistance for 5 years or 90K miles and I've only done just over 20K in the 3 years I've had it.

I temporarily set a PIN lock and as I suspected, the app is useless without a connected car, no options for anything

So it's going to get uninstalled and it'll have to be a phone call if needed

Surely a face or fingerprint security lock, is far more secure than a password.
In my case I use the same fingerprint, as I use to open my IPad/Iphone. A new one is not required.

This is the number you call if you have a Mk4 and don’t have the My Honda+ app.

Re that Honda 5 Year Care Package, my understanding is that Hondacare Assistance cover in case of breakdown of your Jazz in the UK is effectively AA Relay Plus. "Hondacare Assistance" is a third party agent TWG Services Ltd who seem to have a call centre acting in Honda's name. Weird middle-man type of arrangement.

I can understand needing a specialist for the MK4 hybrid mechanicals but for a puncture, now we no longer have spares, could be any AA mechanic and would be quicker than waiting for a specialist unless of course the AA have this covered

Let's be careful out there !
