The server move went smoothly due to the small size of the forum, we just had to waith a few days for the domain names to point to the new server. The only problem was my internet connection went down on Thursday so couldn't flick the switch back on.
The move was prompted when tsoHost, who we've been with since 2007 when they were Vidahost, are ceasing operation as part of a consolidation of the brands owed by the parent company GoDaddy. They couldn't (wouldn't?) migrate us over to a new hosting package so we had to find a new home and now with Krystal.
TsoHost used to be excellent in the Vidahost era, but over the years they have gone downhill after being passed around the industry like a certain British car brand. Their TrustPilot reviews are quite something! Their tech support for instance went from a live chat to an email support ticket only responding during weekday office hours. And their solution to a constant problem with connecting to the FTP server (to upload new files) was to whitelist my IP address, which is useless as IP addresses change from time to time.
