Windows winding down by themselves?

The morning I want out to the locked car with the keys in my  pocket. Opened the boot, put the cameras and a bag in and shut it without locking the car. Back indoors for 20 min or so and when I went out all four windows were fully open.

Have I done something without knowing it or is there a glitch in the computer(s)?

From the manual, to open the windows from the remote :

To open: Press the unlock button, and then
within 10 seconds, press it again and hold it.

Maybe an accidental press

Ahhhhh, that may well be the 'problem' (mainly myself causing an ID 10 T error)

I would actually be on alert here . There are cases of this where no one has been near the remote and it’s happened. It’s happened to our HRV twice! Having googled it, I wasn’t alone!
Its left me forever checking my Crosstar 😂

...Someone I knew had a similar problem with a Seat Leon. Occasionally he would notice that random windows in the car were down. Not always the same amount or indeed the same ones. This only seemed to occur after it had rained.
I don't think it has anything to do with the key fob as I don't recall window operation being possible from it.

Had this problem with a Renault Scenic a few years ago. We'd find windows lowered in the morning, on one occasion it happened uncommanded whilst driving. Turns out there was a known problem with the actuators being susceptible to water ingress (who knew water would get inside the doors?!). IIRC all 4 were replaced whilst we had the car.

Seems unlikely that's the OP's problem if he gets all 4 lowering together.

...and that's most likely exactly what happened.
I often use this option to remotely open all windows at some distance when the Jazz is parked in the sun in the summer. Let the wind remove the worst of the heat, while I stay in the shade.

It definitely happened to me at least once (I made a post), I went to a restaurant and locked the car,
then after dinner I went for a ride in another car and a few hours later when I came back my car had the windows open.
Luckily nothing was stolen.
In the end I also thought it was an accidental pressing of a button on the remote control that I had in my pocket.
But was it really that?

Only happened to me once, came to car in garage and rear nearside was open, I was flaggergasted. Next time I parked I found out why, I reverse into the garage, take the driver window down to guage the 20 cm space I need on my side of the door jamb to be central parked. While holding the driver switch I accidentally touch another switch with my little finger without realising concentrating on reversing! Now I pay more attention.

I found early on that the key fob in my pocket was being pressed with various movements outside the car. The main issue being climbing out

My solution was to make sure that my house keys, on the same keyring, are folded on the side to cover the buttons

Never had a problem wince

My solution is still the trusty old Smint box (which additionally shields the key fob nicely).

If I don't have the house keys on the fob keyring them as sure as eggs is eggs I'll go out and forget the house keys

So a dedicated cover isn't an option for me

I am always careful with the 'keys' and can not see how I could have pressed the button in the manner described without knowing (but the by definition I wouldn't know would I?)

I guess its a matter of keep checking the windows.

What gives the game away with me is when I exit the car in my garage

It's a bit tight and if I have the house keys on the wrong side I hear a beeping as the buttons get pressed in my pocket with the drivers door still open
