Jazz parking sensors beeping as soon as i select reverse. Help!

Firstly i have just come across this site so hope im posting in correct place. My 57 plate Honda Jazz Sport automatic was delivered to me yesterday. It has parking sensors fitted by Honda, my question is should they beep continuously when i select reverse. I thought it would just be when you are near something. If this is a fault?, how can it be fixed? and could it be fixed under the 12 month Honda happiness warranty? i look forward to any advice. thanks.

With reversing sensors I have come across you get an initial beep when you select reverse, I guess to let you know its working and then a series of beeps increasing and then a continuous beep when you are close to something.

I would take it back to Honda and get them to check it over.

There can be faults within a single rear sensor , if the dealer cannot solve I'll post the steps needed to identify the fault location

You might want to check that the sensors are clean? Sometimes if they have a bit of mud or whatever on them they get confused.

Thank you for all the people who gave advice. I took car back to perth and they tested sensors and are ordering a new sensor kit under warranty.
