I had some unexpected, and unacceptable to me, ACC auto braking within weeks of purchase so I decided to not use it.
I also had the unexpected braking when I first got the car, but I can now tell when to expect such interventions, eg when about to pass a parked car, or cyclist.
Yes, there are situations where perhaps it’s best left Off, but in overall terms I find it just about acceptable.

Exactly the same here.

Perfect way to check if/when your brake lights work (with ACC):

Use simple display (00.) and press acc button to show image of car with action of lights.

But I don't think it has to do with this "problem":

I had some unexpected, and unacceptable to me, ACC auto braking within weeks of purchase so I decided to not use it.

I use LIM instead which has been perfect for my needs.

Maybe someone here can explain to me what ACC (or LIM) has to do with handbrake or brake hold? ???

To see the display you don't use ACC, just press the button to enable it.  It isn't activated till you set a speed.

I have a long 30mph road to the local roundabout and used the ACC with foot hovering above the brake pedal. It did surprisingly well and came to a gentle full stop behind the car in front at the roundabout without my input- the first time you do this is a strange experience! The only thing I noticed if a car pulls out a side road way head it slows down very early but does then catch up fine.

You can adjust the range. Tap on the steering wheel button with the horizontal bars on it and you will have I think four distance options.
I use ACC often. I am not too keen on it's late braking for a stopped vehicle in front. I find it far too late for my style of driving where I try to avoid actually stopping in traffic as much as I can by using B and minimising hard braking.

It is pretty scary when using ACC to let the car stop without the drivers input. It's so tempting to put your foot on the brake!

I noticed on the CR-V brake hold comes on automatically when you start, is there a way to make the Jazz start with brake hold on?

... It's one of best changes they implemented in the HR-V.

My corsa would set parking lights  if you press down the indicator stalk while the ignition is off. One at front, one at rear, either left or right.
.
That seems to be a thing with German origin car, my last Skoda  was like this (VW group all a the same)
Corsa opal/vauxhall etc.

I pop on the brake hold button every time I drive the Jazz

If I’m parking up I turn it off so I can use the ‘creep’ as it’s much easier than with the hold on
