Reversing camera alignment
« on: November 03, 2021, 09:34:51 PM »
I painted two parallel strips on garage floor to assist with reverse parking (and also positioning low angle ramps) but have noticed with Crosstar that the yellow guide lines on screen tend to be towards the left of centre.

Anyone else have same experience?

I've never used the rear camera for garage parking.

I use the door mirrors and I have a marker pen line on the nearside garage wall that I use to line up with the door mirror.

I only use the rear camera when parking outdoors to see how close I am to a rear kerb or bollards.

Just me though.

Here is what I can achieve on the mirrors alone, this was my Civic :

On mine the lines are pretty accurate, but are wider than the actual car width as you can park closer to the edge than the lines say.

I use wide angle when first starting to reverse, then normal view for lining up and top down view for parking fully in the space edge.

However, using the wing mirrors to line up between the space markings is also something I use a lot.
