By the sound of that reply I'd be concerned my forthcoming new Crosstar is to be a showroom demonstrator with all and sundry climbing in.
If so I'd be in the showroom and note the VIN of any matching. Then if they tried to sell me that model I'd reject it unless they offered a significant discount on a shop soiled car.
Exactly. Mine was actually a showroom demonstrator (with 2 kms on it) but I ended up getting 2K off list price.
I knew what I was getting into and, once I'd placed a deposit, a sign was put on the car saying "sold" and the doors locked. Next to it they had a Jazz Executive anyway, so customers could still sit in that one.
In Hungary the Jazz is considered waaaaaaaay overpriced - even though it's a hybrid - so I doubt that many people sat in it even before I placed a deposit. And it was faultless inside and out.
But the UK market is a different story. I would be so unhappy with the dealer if that was their approach (and would take my business elsewhere) especially if you've already paid a deposit on the vehicle that was specifically ordered and now arrived.
