Who is the boss?
« on: November 03, 2020, 09:59:10 AM »
Driving on country roads and the Jazz lane assist gives a warning of going over central lines... My wife gives me a warning that I'm driving too close to the edge.... Who do I listen to? I can switch off the lane assist but can't find a similar button on her.

No matter how complicated technology may get it is still easier to understand than the average female mind....
Some people will only consider you an expert if they agree with your point of view or advice,  when you give them advice they don't like they consider you an idiot

Just keep in mind:
* if you scratch the car on the bushes on the side of the road, it's your fault, you didn't listen to her.
* if you bump the rearview mirror on oncoming traffic, it's your fault because you didn't listen to the car's assist even if you bought that that she didn't thought was good value for money and better spent on a weekend away.
* if nothing happens, it's still your fault because she is the boss and she says so!

It's a no-win situation... Wifes are lucky that we love them so much...  ;D ;D ;D ;)

If I carefully follow every wiggle in a rural road then I'm get a complaint from the front passenger about starting to feel queasy so I prefer to disable the lane keep assist and (traffic permitting) steer a straighter line.

Find a safe, convenient and legal place to pull over. Remove the keys from the ignition and pass them to her.  "You better have these then dear!"  8) - ps: Not brave enough to do this myself with Mrs Westy!!  :D

Lane assist is useless for me on the roads around here unless on a dual carriageway or motorway. It is turned off by default as I am the boss and driver aids are just that, aids.
