Yes. WTO terms will kill off the Sunderland plant as they will involve a 10% tariff on exports. 70% of their production goes to the EU.

Germany sells about 800,000 vehicles per year into UK - many more than they sell to USA for instance. Also UK is a high profit market.   UK also a large market for a lot of German products like white goods. Everyone loses in a deal where tariffs are employed.   Germany runs the EU and will not see its UK market shrink due to pure ideology and intransigence, and EU asking for far more from UK than they have from any other trade partner ' to teach us a lesson'.... they need get realistic.

Hope you are right. We have left the EU now and, for me, that's game over in terms of Leave/Remain. Tariff free trade so important though.

More good news - interesting that Toyota tying up with Suzuki to build hybrids.  I was super impressed when I drove my brothers Suzuki grand vitara 1.4 boosterjet ( not a hybrid, but great spread of torque from 1500 revs - he is very happy with fuel consumption as well ). Suzuki have a good  reputation for reliability as well, my Suzuki 650 V Twin motorbike has a lovely engine..
