Lost radio card with the code to the radio
« on: May 02, 2019, 08:36:34 PM »
Hi all,

I have been working on the car recently and removed the battery. I had the code to the radio and imputed the code and the radio is currently working. I was just about to remove the battery again, force of habit I went to get the code from the card only to find it missing, so I am not going to remove the battery for the time being and will keep looking for the card. If I don't find it I might have to bite the bullet and ask for help from this forum with the code but that involves pulling out the radio from the fascia to get the serial number. I will follow up with a request at some point if I cannot find the card.
TIA
Ben

Some people will only consider you an expert if they agree with your point of view or advice,  when you give them advice they don't like they consider you an idiot

Serial number does not require the radio removed.
Turn the ignition switch to ON.
Turn ON the device and confirm that the display reads COdE.
Turn OFF the device.
Press and hold the 1 and 6 radio preset buttons, and turn ON the device.
The display toggles between two screens: U with the first 4 digits of the serial number (U2200 for example,)
And L with the last 4 digits of the serial number (L0055 for example.)
Ignore the U and L and record all 8 digits of the serial number.

Must be a newer radio that has been fitted as the Mk 1 normally does not require a code.

This is the radio fitted to my 56 plate, and it does not need a code.

Jocko,

Thanks, that's the same as mine, I can go ahead and disconnect the battery later.
