My camera on my SR was installed by the dealers prior to delivery, I presume it was a fairly standard installation for them to do - it has the reversing guidelines same as the EX ones.

If you enable wireless Android Auto you don't need any phone to car cable.

By default, no idea why, wireless AA is disabled but is easily enabled, there's a thread here somewhere ......

Up until around March 2020, wireless AA was not allowed in many countries, Still some its not allowed.

I was considering a Pixel as my next phone but I can't find an active mount. Brodit stopped making mounts after the Pixel 4.

Looks like I'll stick with Samsung.
Let's be careful out there !

...Do you really need to see your phone if you are using Android Auto?
I just put mine on the small shelf.

I find it didn't get a good GPS fix on the shelf which I need for my speed camera app. Plus, I get no position lag that some have posted using Android Auto Google Maps.

Got my bespoke active mount that holds it firm and on charge and only takes a second to slide into the holder.

Hi, I'm probably talking nonsense, but reading the list the Android wireless is not working in Japan,
isn't it that being the machine produced in Japan they make it come out by default with the wireless off?

(Sorry for the mistakes I used Google Translate)

In Turkey we use WiFi everywhere without any control.

Lots of car commercial says (like Jazz) wireless apple car and android auto.
They don't say wireless android auto.
When I write it down it's obvious but when somebody tell you wireless apple car play and android you think that you can connect your android phone without cable but it's false.

There is actually a lot of false advertising about the cars.
In 2021 September, I bought Seat Arona and it has wired Apple Car Play & Android Auto.
But there is something off that time because in Turkey you can't download Android Auto to your phone because there is no application in Google Play Store services.
For some reason it was removed. You have to download from web if you wanna use it.
I don't know what is change but we can download it from store now.
We still don't have Google Earth on store.

Some country have stupid restriction for specific subject but WiFi don't one them in here.
I don't know why it's coming closed.
Why we can't use Honda Connect App?? I mean I have Honda what is matter which county I live in. You sell this car to me I didn't smuggle damn car ;D
Cheers!

You cant necessarily blame Honda.  As you say some countries control the use of internet  for political   or internal security reasons.   But iif this is not the case in Turkey  some governments have  issues with some  tech companies  ,or individual apps  ,if  for instance if they consider their service is harmful to their citizens in some way or not properly controlled and moderated.  This concern may only relate to one app among many owned by the same company, but may result in lack of support  for all their products.

Or it may simply be that some countries dont have the infrastructure to support some applications. Maybe they dont broadcast certain signals at certain frequencies.   For example  some countries  dont have any  DAB radio stations.   Its not that Honda dont want you to have DAB radio.  Some countries may not have garmin maps  so you dont get built in Garmin  satnav.

I dont have the enough knowledge about  this to argue it properly.  None of it may be relevant to your situation and I may be talking nonsense.   :-[

I get your point but I'm customer they have to fix it :)
Until last year we had a Honda Factory in Turkey. Civic is one of the most common car in here.
But we cant use Honda connect I don't even know what is Honda connect but I like to try.

Anyways we use to it. Seat has a similar app it wasn't work either.

Yes we don't have DAB radio. I wish we had but we don't.
Cheers!

If Seat can get something but Honda cannot it may be Hondas fault. But if both Honda and VAG cannot get something its more likely to be a location thing beyond Hondas control.    .  Annoying for you, but unless there are other makes of car that do get  it in Turkey  it may be unavoidable.
Here in the UK we are annoyed Honda chose not to pay for traffic alerts on the garmin satnav.  You get them in Germany. (even on a uk car)

International business relations are weird it's usually illogical.

I'm still following Seat Arona UK page on facebook. In Turkey every Arona came with fog lights. Probably almost every car came with fog lights.
I noticed that's a option in UK. You have to pay extra for fog light. I mean isn't fog very common weather over there?

We use smartphone since begining. We like tech, we don't know how to use it but buy always newer one.
Also we like cars but some how car & tech doesn't meet up in Turkey.
We still don't like electric or hybrid car. Peoples still searching diesel motor because it's lower fuel consumption. They don't make 10k way in a year but still diesel in their minds.

A lot of brand has APP like honda connect but I guess none of work in here.
Maybe extra expensive cars only and electric cars I guess.
I know it's a usuless APP but Jazz has builtin GPS atleast "find my car" could be a good feature.

Cheers!
