Honda Jazz 2004 KeyFob model keyless entry
« on: February 23, 2016, 07:50:41 PM »
Good evening everyone,

Just bought my Jazz few weeks ago, the S model and now I am looking forward to buy a keyfob for keyless entry, will make my life easier :)
I was wondering what model should I buy. The HLIK-1T one is for the 2008 upwards model, right? That means it will not work for my 2004 model? What about this one: G8D-348H-A? Might be the compatible one? I am looking on different websites but cant find the right answer regarding the exactly key model...Is there anyone who knows for sure in here?:)
Or maybe someone who already have a keyfob for 2004 Jazz? Maybe a photo in here? Will be very helpful, or at least to write it down the model...
Thanks everyone for looking, hopefully will find the answer fast!
Cheers

You will want to add a keyless entry unit, the S model does not have the receiver, but it may be possible to plug in a Honda reclaimed unit although getting the remote fob or the later integrated key with lock buttons can be pricey.
If you are happy to splice into the wiring then a cheap eBay keyless entry kit will do the job, you just have to find two wires - a white & white/red wire that comes from the drivers door lock.

These two threads will help you decide.

TG, need your help again :)
I found a keyless receiver unit....part number: G8D-350H-B...433.9 MHz frequency...seems like the item comes from a Honda Civic 2001. Do you consider this one will work to my Jazz S 2004? What key should I buy if the unit will be ok? Any Honda's key who is working to 433.9 MHz? For example this one -  HLIK-1T - will be compatbile with the G8D-350H-B?
Because my logical thinking is...if i will have the Honda keyless receiver unit to 433.9 MHz and the Honda OEM key working to the same frequency should be no troubles to work together...I am wrong? :D
Thanks for your time

Hi, it may be an equivalent part but the Jazz one is 38385-SAA-G01 433.9Mhz
All 2000's 433Mhz remotes should work - the three button ones for bootlid release will just ignore the extra button

I've got a receiver here from a Jazz, but I don't know if all cars have the connector plug and if they do whether it can be reached without completely taking the car to bits, you can have it if you like, but you will need to find a Honda fob, or a key with buttons that you can cannibalise. The early cars like mine came with two keys and one remote fob, the later cars have the remote buttons integrated onto both keys, either style will work the locks once paired with the receiver which is an easy procedure.

There's two separate things to account for and they are independent of each other.
1) The 2 or 3 button remote talks to a 433Mhz receiver down by the fusebox, this box pulses the central locking wires.

2) UK spec cars also have a unique immobiliser ID46 chip inside the key, which is read by a different receiver in the steering column lock. This one needs Honda (or auto locksmith) technician to pair it with the car.

If the connector is there all you need to do is add a receiver and a remote, and leave the keys/immobiliser alone.  It should be fairly easy to plug in the Honda receiver and pair a Honda remote with it. If it's not there then you would add an eBay receiver to the wiring in the same place. You would need to remove the trim from around the fusebox, and maybe to the side as well. The receiver lives on the side of the car a few inches above and to the right of the opening to the fusebox, the cable drops down from above. If S models have the connector, then it will be secured somewhere to stop it flapping about and causing a nuisance.

The photos show a Honda receiver fob and key with buttons, the wiring and connector of an SE yanked down at the fusebox, and the inside of a combined key/remote.

Without the connector and a suitable remote the receiver is useless, and you would be better off with an £10 eBay kit.

Hope it works out for you.
This key might be OK if you remove the blade & chip and just us it as a remote fob.
Programming is easy: on/press/off x4
