Installing the Illumination Pack and Wiring?
« on: September 30, 2025, 11:15:16 AM »
Hello All
Hope everyone on here is well.

My wife had a Mk4 Jazz EX. She had it brand new from 2021, but unfortunately it was hit by a Transit Van while she was stationary on the road last month.

It was a Write off :'(

Luckily she only suffered minor injuries, so she was ok and none of the kids were in the back! The whole rear end caved in quite badly.

We have replaced the car with another used EX, but it is not the same :(

We are in the process of trying to put the car back to how she had it, but unfortunately it is proving very difficult and expensive too.
We had the full illumination pack fitted from factory, but was unable to salvage this from the car when we went to get our belongings.

I have been wondering If anyone here has fitted a kit themselves? Or knows where to find the instructions for them? Mainly where the plugs go/where it is wired into.
The rest is just panels and wire tucking

I just bought a replacement set of just the door sills. (I have taken a risk as its from China) but we cant afford the full Kit, especially when the insurance companies don't actually give you back what you owe.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi Steve

Thanks mate, The above you sent is still relevant and useful. I aim to try and get the pack bit by bit if possible so I can fit it myself.

The main one I am trying to find at the moment is for the Door Sills with the Light up JAZZ on the door kick plates.

Do you have the link/site for where you found the above? Do they have all of them on there? I.e how to fit the door handle ones also... etc.

Thank You

Sorry to hear about your totaled car! (hopefully nobody got hurt!)

I can tell you first hand that the original Honda footwell illumination for the Honda MK4 (facelift, but I rather doubt it has changed from the original) is somehow a disappointment.

Turns out, the two LED fitted with the original Honda kit are more like two trained fireflies and quite dim!
However, yet they make a difference: They light even when driving with the headlights turned on which gives a rather nice "glow" (only noticable, when it's dark outside!).

I find it especially useful for the occasional passengers because it sheds some light at the floor and/or a handbag placed there.

Please, don't get overexcited! - As mentioned before: Fireflies come to mind, not "illumination".

Thank you. Yeah luckily the injuries weren't too bad. She is on the mend now.

I know right! I know exactly what you mean as we had them installed in the old car. Its not bright at all, but very nice and subtle during night time drives.
That's what she liked about them.

I am a little annoyed at myself for not looking into it before hand, and strip the old ones out while it was in the recovery yard. but hindsight eh!

When I brought my advance sport new October 2023 I asked dealer about
fitting internal  illumination and illuminated sill plates, to my surprise he said
save your money not very bright at all, in the end to seal the deal I got
paint treatment , set of four carpets and non illuminated sill plates all thrown
in as a freebie , tried for a boot liner but he said I was pushing it, to my surprise
the paint treatment seems to work car always looks clean.
I forgot what I came to forget.
