A local to Grimsby driving instructor uses a Jazz to train his students in . No doubt the driving school has a high pass rate then !!!

Presumably they just get an automatic licence

Probably all they need with 2 pedals becoming more prevalent

Hill starts will be a breeze :)
Let's be careful out there !

I don't know about elsewhere: The special "automatic only" code 78 in the swiss drivers licence has been retroactively rescinded starting from february 2019.
The reasoning being that the majority of new cars is equipped with automatic gear boxes.

I have seen this, there is also a Crosstar being used around Louth too. I don't think it is anything unusual, I am sure there has always been 'automatic' only lessons (or there were when I took my test 40 odd years ago).

The Jazz features in the latest What Car magazine under "Every Hybrid Car Rated" mainly concentrating on plug-in hybrids, but the Jazz gets 5stars under regular hybrids, as does the Toyota Corolla and the Lexus LBX, so the Jazz is in good company. Strange that under hybrids coming soon,  they show the Mazda 2 hybrid, which is already on sale, and I've seen one outside my local supermarket.

Way back in 1965, on my very first lesson, I did a number of hill starts;… never stalled the engine once.

But I was facing downhill at the time!

I had two Jazz CVTs and for the past 6 years a manual one -- the manual box was so easy to use, it would be absolutely the best car to teach someone to 'drive stick' in!

Hi
Am very happy with my Mk 4 Jazz after almost 12.000 miles trouble free motoring ,so  was a bit worried by 5th Civics comment about  about them ( being easy to steal)
Can you please explain how ??
It's not that I intend  to steal one honest, but to try and protect mine.
Thanks

Fancier cars than ours have been disappearing from driveways overnight on our road on a weekly basis, so neighbours are installing security bollards. I'm buying a steering wheel lock in case they come for my Jazz - simple but effective I hope.

I was told management decided the marketing department took over from the engineers at Mercedes years ago who decided the balance sheet could be improved by saving on quality control, putting pressure on suppliers leading to cheaper made, less long lasting parts, and thus the inevitable loss of a reliable image - that did their reputation a whole lot of good in the long term. For example the old w124 would drive for ever (easy 300,000 miles plus) and was dead easy to service with over engineered parts throughout, that's when the engineers were in charge. I hope the Honda engineers are still in charge!!!

That was the merger with Chrysler:   the US engineers called the shots.
