Hello from Cumbria (a Cymru)
« on: December 01, 2015, 10:38:35 PM »
New to this forum but not to the Jazz, being now on my second, a Mk 2 ES Plus.

I divide my time between north-west England and mid Wales.

I would like to offer the winter tyres from my Mk 1 Jazz for sale, but forum rules preclude this until I have clocked ten posts.

I guess this makes four, so six to go.

Thanks for the welcome both.

I am trying to get my head around the TPMS situation with respect to my new winter tyres, which I expect to arrive in a few days. May start a new thread on this matter when I have done a bit more research.

A modest £100 - for four wheels and tyres with a fifth tyre as a spare. But I would not want to bear any of the costs of sending them, and they (and I) are in Cumbria - a part of Cumbria which is presently under more rainwater than I have ever seen.

Hell, I've drafted a pretty detailed ad (no pics yet though). Maybe I should put it up on the relevant bit of this site. And if The Administrator does not approve (because I am not yet up to the required 10 posts), then he can take the appropriate action.

What do you think?

Having looked more fully into all the possibilities for Mk 1 Jazz drivers wishing to spend their winter months properly attyred (sorry about that), I have concluded that I would be asking too much in asking £100.

Will post the ad soon.

Yes, it has. And in 2009, the most severe winter imaginable followed the November floods. Not that I see that as an omen. But I do think that winter tyres are a good idea. You are always ready then, whatever the weather.

I will be asking a minimum of £60, with the proceeds to be donated to the Cumbria 2015 Flood Appeal.

Will try and post the ad later today, and then you will have a better idea of what is on offer

Ready to post this ad in a good cause now, 'cept I can't see a button on the 'for sale' forum which enables me to do it.

I am hoping that with this post, which gives me ten posts total, such a button will appear.

Oh floods. I hope when no longer under media scrutiny the insurers hold up their side of the bargain, although over time they probably look to recoup their outlay.
We've got good defences since 1980's, but the insurers are tough - I'd take the excess but not the premium.
