Just for interest, I got stuck in a M25 closure yesterday en-route home from Heathrow. Usually a trip that takes around 1hr 40min took me 8 hours. Up to the closure, 35 miles in, the car was showing 70+mpg.
Sitting for hours in the heat, listening to music, air-con on, time passed fairly quickly with the engine stopping and starting which maintained 3 bars on the battery, the consumption dropped to around 50mpg, with no noticeable drop in the fuel level gauge.
The only real negatives were rather bruised buttocks from sitting in the Jazz for too long and a rather twitchy higher than normal speed drive home, once past the obstruction, which I put down to insufficient suspension damping at speed.
Whilst I wait for my replacement main car to arrive, the Jazz has to cover all duties and the hybrid system dealt with this situation well.
