Elegance Servicing and Display questions
« on: October 25, 2025, 03:09:32 PM »
Hello everybody
I just took delivery of my new Jazz. I chose the entry level Elegance model because frankly I couldn't be doing with all the keyless entry/Faraday box malarky. That said I'm happy with it but I have a couple of questions.
First, according to the manual (which covers all spec levels) I should be able to cycle through the various screens to get to the service interval information but that doesn't appear on my model. So because there is no longer a service book to be stamped how do I know when the next (it's first in my case) service is due? Surely you don't have to wait until a service reminder appears because you might have a long trip planned.
Secondly, regarding the audio display. On my previous Jazz, when playing tracks I'd copied to a USB stick the display gave a lot of the mp3 tag info like album, year etc. The new one only gives the track title & artist. I can't find any options to add fields?

It sounds like the Service Reminder System has not been activated on your car as the is no display option for it. You won’t get any reminders and would need to service the car on the fixed schedule of 12,500 mile or 12 months which ever comes first.

If it hasn't been activated, or deliberately deactivated, then that is a good thing in the UK

I've had 2 dealers tell me they've had owners coming in far too early because they've had the popup

As above, in the UK it's 12,500 or 1 year which saves numerous dealer visits when there are a few different services, A, B and whatever
Let's be careful out there !

My 2024 Advance is set to annual servicing (I think  :-[ ) so I dont get early reminders for stuff I dont really  need.
But at about 11 months from delivery I did start getting  a service reminder at each start up. . After twiddling a few knobs  I discovered this was a reminder that the annual service was due on a date that was approximately (but not exactly) 12 months after I took delivery of the car.    My previous 2021 Mk4 EX  did not do this.

After the service this stopped .Presumably the dealer has reset it to reappear 11 months from the  date of the service, or perhaps earlier if you look like exceeding 12000 miles .

It coming on at each startup became a bit annoying  ,especially as I had already been reminded by email and booked the service. But must confess I didnt bother to check to see if I could switch it off myself.

One year I did have to forward plan and slightly reschedule   a long trip on the continent to ensure  I would be back in the UK at the correct time  and within maximum permitted  mileage  for the service.  This was mostly to comply with the terms of the warranty and free servicing package.   I'm not sure any servicing reminder system would have helped me  plan that far ahead  but I can see that one based on mileage would be a useful reminder for those who regularly exceed 12K miles 20K km per year  .
My IQ test came back negative

You can zero the service settings through the menu, I did it in case the
dealer had forgot to do it when it had its first service as soon as I got home.
I forgot what I came to forget.

Best to just book in a service for month 11 of ownership of the new Jazz, unless you expect to drive over 12500 miles in a year.   And then just clear any service reminder on the dash.  My 2021 Jazz used to start to remind me 1 month from the date the service was actually due, and i just deleted it each day until my booked service day.  Wasnt a problem   :)
