Fuel indicator
« on: August 04, 2025, 09:41:12 PM »
Hello all

I got the low fuel indicator activated when I was on the last 2-3 bars.

When I eventually went onto the last bar of petrol, I topped up with an additional 6 litres, but the fuel bars didn’t increase.

Did I fill up an insignificant amount, or you think there’s an issue?

p.s. I’m deliberately keeping the fuel on the lower end as Honda asked me to, ahead of my recall this week.

As always, thanks in advance for your help.

Personally I've never noticed that because I tend to fill fully.

But I recall comments over on the Mk4 forum about the gauge not registering when a small amount of fuel is added, eg:

If the reason postulated there is correct (ie the tank is broad and shallow so a small change in level doesn't register on the gauge) then it applies to the Mk3 as well.

Thanks @ColinB. I assumed this is the issue as I always do a full refill.

My car has gone in for the fuel pump recall, so I will do a full refill after to check it’s not broken!
