2nd Service
« on: April 22, 2023, 10:29:06 PM »
Hello folks,

If you dont have a service plan (I do) how much is the Honda book price for a second service (2nd year) on a MK 4 Jazz / Crosstar?

Cheers!  :)

I have 5 year service plan but with previous car I paid £275 for my first service mainly for labour in September last year. I was quoted £660 for years 2 and 3 which I declined. I think the 5 services would have added up to £1500.

I don’t know specifically, and it is negotiable at some dealers, but I doubt much change out of £300.

On this topic, I have a 5 year service plan, do I have to take it to the dealership I purchased the car from or any Honda dealership?

Have just booked my Mk 4 in for its 2nd service due Mid May and as it will have approx 9000 =9500 miles on it by then
Have asked them to swap front wheels to rear to even out the wear.
My local Honda dealer has just quoted £49 quid extra to do that  !!!  :o
How come they can charge that much when they have to remove the wheels to check the brake pads.
Seems they do not have to  remove the wheels to check the brake pads even though they reminded me to have the wheel lock nut available.
Will call round to Quick Fit and see how much they charge for the wheel swap

The 5 year service plan is no longer available FOC, as part of Honda Finance.
My dealer wants to charge me £800, if included in a new car sale. :o

Time to start doing the sums again. It may work out cheaper to pay separately for the first 2 years then trade the car in just before year 3 falls due.  Unless extended warranty on the hybrid bits etc makes longer ownership more attractive.   I'll probably keep mine 5 years, as I have the 5 year plan.
When I bought my Yaris new  I   was offered a 3 year service plan .But  I bought a cheaper 2 year plan. At year 3  I had the choice of either trading it in for a new car,  or, because the 3 year warranty had now expired ,I could get it serviced much cheaper at an independent garage. Why should I pay for the dealer to  service  a car that could go straight into their used car stock?
I will fix that dripping tap.  No need to keep reminding me every 3 months.

Yep, that 5 year FOC plan was a great offer.  Still Honda is not Mercedes, and you can still negotiate. Salesmen love a sale.  I wonder what they'd discount the 800 to?   :-X

Wife’s Toyota has 10 year warranty provided it’s serviced annually by Toyota . Ideal for her 8000 miles a year as it’s still below the 100,000 mile limit. As our local Toyota garage is family owed still they offer reasonable service costs and do a proper job ! Had the Yaris cross been on sale when I bought my Jazz I would have bought the Yaris for the peace of mind the local Toyota dealer brings to the experience! However nothing but good from my Honda experience so far and the jazz is a better design in so many ways !

It's worth knowing that if you buy a second-hand Jazz which had the 5-year service plan it's transferrable to the new owner, that's how I got mine on a 6-month old demonstrator.
